CONNECTED

Students can access online discussion forums for additional student and faculty interaction. Want to meet your professors in person? For students local to Los Angeles, coming to lecture in person is another option, though not a requirement.

To make law school accessible to working professionals, all recordings of live online sessions are available for review after live presentation has occurred, 24/7. Missing a class is not an issue—you can view the recorded lecture and use the recording for review later during your course.

LEARN THE LAW TO HELP OTHERS

Communities need legal services, but may not have available options in the legal services market that are realistic for their resources. Legal professionals who are interested in making a difference can use their education to meet needs that otherwise go unaddressed by working with organizations on policy research and advocacy, pro bono volunteering or on-the-ground legal assistance.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Understand the theories and principles of law, their qualifications and limitations, and their relationships to each other.
  • Effectively evaluate possible legal issues in personal and professional situations.
  • Engage in legal analysis and problem solving.
  • Develop effective and preventive legal strategies.

FLEXIBLE & PRACTICAL

  • ALU’s authority to grant the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, which qualifies graduates to take the California Bar Examination and obtain admission to the practice of law in California is through registration with the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California in the unaccredited distance learning school category. ALU students must pass the California First Year Law Students’ Examination (FYLSX, commonly referred to as the “Baby Bar”) at the end of their first year of study.
  • Abraham Lincoln University is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The Distance Education Accrediting Commission is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

"ALU is not traditional. It adapts to the student rather than requiring the student to adapt to it. After graduation from ALU, I opened my own firm. I work for hundreds of clients now, and frankly it's a heck of a lot of fun being a lawyer."
